My First ever critique. This seems to have been expertly done and very time consuming.
The brush strokes and the way some of the ink/paint flows into each other and corresponds with the whole entire painting was really nice and easy to enjoy. The eyes and other details are another amazing part of this as well as the background. The patch of skin above his beard and under his lips seem a bit odd and or like an accident/forgotten mistake. The eyes seemed a bit low and forehead struck me as a bit odd since it seemed a bit to big/empty.
The simple crosses and sun in the background add such a nice touch and help the impact of the picture. The shawl/whatever is on his head looks real nice too! A bit simple but who knows how much can be done with a brush painting a piece of cloth?
Even though this was done in the morning, it seems like it took all day to do. I wonder what it'd look like if you'd have worked on this for a week. This is a lovely piece of work and hopefully others will enjoy it.
